Run Dirty is a BahamaHealth Wellness Initiative.

Run Dirty is an innovative wellness initiative and a fun endurance event that is certain to become a mainstay in the Bahamas. Run Dirty hosted 250 participants in its inaugural year; 2015 and for this year, we are expected to more than double this number. The event includes a 5 mile run with more than 20 obstacles throughout the race and is focused on encouraging health living, vibrant exercise, team comradery and group participation.

Run Dirty will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at 6:00am.

The race course will begin and end at LONG WHARF. Participants have the option of walking or running the route and the most exciting part is the chance to RUN DIRTY.

Registration Closes on Friday, May 25th, 2018. There will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION.


Companies, civic organizations, churches, youth groups, families are all invited to build their team. This is a great opportunity to have fun, get fit, keep fit, build camaraderie and encourage teamwork.


5 - 10 participants 11 - 20 participants 20+ participants

Awards will be given for the top three (3) finishers in each group to complete the event.
Please note all team members must cross the finish line.
An award is also will be given for the largest team.

Participants may elect from two (2) options:
Walk / Run Only Course - The Walk / Run Only Course will extend along main streets of Nassau.

RUN DIRTY - The RUN DIRTY segment will include the run only course and will also cover obstacles on Saunders Beach, Goodman’s Bay, and Junkanoo Beach. The terrain type will vary from beach to hillside, to muddy earth and will incorporate the natural features of the land at each venue.
Sample obstacles may include:
  • Gimme 20:

    Participants drop and give 20 push-ups on command from a military officer.

  • Beach Splash:

    Participants wade through the shallow end of the beach from one end to the other.

  • Tire Trail:

    A series of tires arranged in rows. Participants step into each tire from one end of the trail to the other.

  • Tall Wall:

    An 8–12-foot wall that participants scale.

  • Flippin' Tires:

    Participants flip tractor tires from one end of the course to the other.

  • Belly Crawl:

    Participants crawl under rope through sand dunes to get to the other side.

  • Military Hurdles:

    Participants climb over a series of hurdles used by the military in training.


Run Dirty will begin on LONG WHARF, specifically Clifford Park.
The race will proceed as follows:
  • North on Marcus Bethel Way to West Bay Street
  • East on West Bay Street to the entrance to Junkanoo Beach
  • West onto Junkanoo Beach
  • West along Fish Fry, onto West Bay Street to Saunders Beach
  • Onto Saunders Beach
  • West to Goodman’s Bay
  • Onto Goodman’s Bay
  • East on West Bay Street to LONG WHARF

Train prior to the event
Leading up to the event, train with walking, running and exercises that strengthen your body. The course will test your endurance and stamina.
If you have had any injuries or serious illness please consult your physician before participating.
Eat well
Get your energy up. Get healthy wholesome foods that will nourish your body and give you the strength you need to participate.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink water and be sure to use the water stops along the route.
Dress Accordingly
Tips on attire may be found in the What To Wear / Bring section. The event continues rain or shine.
Stretch & Warm up
Limber up by stretching well and warming up prior to the event. This will keep your muscles loose and will keep you agile.
Pay Attention
Pay close attention to your surroundings. We will have volunteers to assist with guiding you through the course. Watch for flags and instructions.
Know Your Limits
There is no shame in this game. If there is an obstacle you are uncomfortable with go around it. The obstacles are optional it is more important that you finish safely.
Feeling Unwell?
If you start to feel unwell contact a medic immediately please. Volunteers can assist with contacting medics as well.

  • Normal running shoes. No cleats or spikes please.
  • Workout gloves may be helpful
  • A towel and change of clothes (You will get dirty)
  • A good sense of humor

Legal Waiver

I acknowledge and understand that: the entry fee for the Run Dirty Event is non-refundable and non-transferrable and that the event organizers at their sole discretion have the right to change, cancel, or postpone the event; Participating in the Run Dirty event is potentially hazardous and there is potential for suffering serious physical trauma, injury or death; and, I should not enter or participate unless I am physically able and appropriately trained. In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I elect to voluntarily compete in this event knowing and assuming the risks and I hereby voluntarily assume complete responsibility for the risk of any injury or accident I may sustain. By participating in this event, I for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, hereby release and forever discharge Family Guardian Insurance Company Limited and any other entities, or persons associated with the Run Dirty event and each of their respective employees, agents, volunteers, representatives, and affiliates, from any and all liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising directly or indirectly from or in any way connected with my participation in this event. I grant authority to the Medical Director of this event along with his agents, affiliates, and designees to have access to all of my medical records and medical physicians and I further authorize medical treatment as required. I grant permission to Family Guardian Insurance Company Limited to use my name, photographic likeness, videotapes, motion pictures, and any other media or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose including but not limited to promotional efforts of any kind without any compensation to me. I warrant that all statements made herein are true and correct and I understand that I am allowed to participate in this event on account of signing this Waiver and Release. I HAVE READ THE FOREGOING AND HEREBY DECLARE THAT I UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS AND INTENTIONALLY AND VOLUNTARILY CERTIFY COMPLIANCE BY ACCEPTING AND SIGNING THIS WAIVER.

IN THE EVENT THE PARTICIPANT IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, as the parent or legal guardian for the above named minor I hereby give my permission for my child or ward to participate in this event and further agree individually on behalf of my child or ward to the above mentioned terms. I certify that my child/ward is in good physical condition and is able to safely participate in this event. I hereby authorize medical treatment for him/her as required and authorize the Medical Director of the event along with his agents, affiliates, and designees to have access to his/her medical records.
